Ironsworn - Solo Session #2

Experience from the perilous journey she undertook last time has made Morgan a better wayfinder. She also spent some time easing her mind by celebrating in the company of the recruits from Foxhollow and the villagers from Eaglespire.

After this she decided to focus on her new task, stopping the rogue mystic from the Lonefort outpost. She attempted to gather information about him and the outpost from the locals however she gained an unwanted attention of someone connected to the rogue mystic. They've kidnapped one of the recruits called Irsia and demanded to meet with Morgan alone. Morgan obliged but naturally made a backup plan where the rest of the recruits would swoop on the location if anything went awry. She even gained a support of few trustworthy members of the Eaglespire settlement.

Meeting the rogue mystic's associate she learned it's a woman called Saskia. Or at least that's what she told Morgan to call her. Morgan chose a cunning approach and attempted to pull some information about the rogue mystic from Saskia as they were negotiating over Irsia's release. She managed to convince Saskia she means no harm to the rogue mystic. It was easy enough partially thanks to seemingly having a common enemy in Varou. Saskia agreed to let Morgan learn more about the rogue mystic but in return Morgan would do a job for them. She wants Morgan to lead hear to the Long Rock settlement. Saskia told her that their leader Aeddon is a staunch opponent of the ways of magic and as such has to be dealt with... Morgan agreed to take Saskia to the Long Rock and swore an iron vow to seal the deal. This was enough to get the safe release of Irsia and it was an opportunity to learn more about the rogue mystic and their group.

Not too long after this incident, Morgan was confronted by Selva, Kiona's fiance. She blamed Morgan for his untimely death and challenged her to a formal duel. Having no other option Morgan accepted her challenge and struck with guilt over Kiona's death she opted to hold no iron during the fight. They drew a circle and faced against each other. Morgan attempted to observe Selva carefully and predict her movements, which worked to an extent but Selva was too fast and they clashed both suffering a hit in the process. The combat went on for a while with furious exchange of blows. Morgan attempted to use deception and fakeouts several times but ultimately Selva held the initiative for most of the combat. Although by the end of the combat they were both battered and bruised, Selva was the one who managed to strike the decisive blow. Defeated and wounded Morgan was forced to leave Eaglespire and never return.

What will happen to our heroine next and where will she go? We'll find out next time. Just a short session today cause I spent way too much time writing the report yesterday and didn't get much sleep. Won't repeat that mistake again.
